EBEWE COMPLIANCE DEADLINES & TIME EXTENSIONS
The last digit of your LADBS Building ID determines your five-year compliance year. Use the lookup, then work backward from the filing windows.

DUE DATE BY BUILDING ID
Due-date schedule follows the last digit of the LADBS Building ID. Confirm your building record and applicable filing requirements before submitting.
THE FIVE-YEAR CYCLE
THE FILING CALENDAR
A time-extension request window opens six months before the applicable due date.
Building registration and associated fees open for the filing cycle.
Declarations of Completion are accepted beginning 90 days before the deadline.
After the deadline, fees, late charges and public non-compliance status may apply.
Received an invoice or warning? Read what an LADBS EBEWE notice means, including non-compliance fees and extension limits. Check the notice and the City’s records alongside your A/RCx schedule.
A time extension does not extend exemption conditions. For example, ENERGY STAR certification must still be issued on or before the original compliance due date.
Audit and retro-commissioning work must be completed within the five years before the due date. For a December 1, 2026 deadline, work completed before December 1, 2021 does not count.
The LADBS non-compliance fee is $202, followed by a 250% late charge if unpaid after 30 days and 12% annual interest after 60 days. Paying the fee does not bring the building into compliance, and compliance status is posted publicly.
Check your building’s official LADBS A/RCx compliance status.
